Delta Airline Reports Most Injured Passengers Released After Toronto Crash

Delta Airline announced on Tuesday that 19 out of 21 passengers who were taken to local hospitals following a plane crash in Toronto have been discharged. Officials are still investigating the cause of the regional jet’s overturn upon landing.

According to DAILY POST, the aircraft—operated by Delta Airlines’ Endeavor Air subsidiary—crashed while landing at Toronto Pearson Airport on Monday.

Ongoing Investigation

Canada’s Transportation Safety Board (TSB) has launched a probe to determine why the CRJ900 aircraft flipped over upon arrival. The cause of Flight DL4819’s accident—departing from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport—remains unknown.

The 16-year-old Bombardier CRJ900, powered by GE Aerospace engines, is designed to carry up to 90 passengers.

Impact of the Crash and Weather Conditions

Post-crash footage revealed that at least one of the plane’s wings was detached from the fuselage.

Meanwhile, Toronto Pearson Airport reported dealing with strong winds and freezing temperatures on Monday. The adverse weather conditions followed a weekend snowstorm, which dumped over 22 cm of snow, disrupting flight schedules.
