Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, on Friday lashed out at the Canadian embassy in Nigeria, telling them to “go to hell.”
His reaction came in support of National Security Adviser (NSA) Nuhu Ribadu, who criticized the embassy for denying visas to Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff, Christopher Musa, and other senior military officials.
Musa and other military chiefs had been scheduled to attend a veterans’ event in Canada but were refused entry visas.
In response, Ribadu condemned the embassy’s actions, stating, “They can go to hell.”
Applauding Ribadu’s stance, Fani-Kayode praised him for standing up to foreign entities who, in his view, show disregard for Nigerians.
In a post on X, he wrote:
“Finally, we have an NSA with some backbone, willing to challenge foreigners who treat our people with contempt.
@NuhuRibadu was absolutely right in calling out the Canadian embassy for its ‘disrespectful’ refusal to grant visas to our top military officers, including the CDS, who were invited to a formal event in their country. He even told them to ‘go to hell!’
“Proud of you, Nuhu. The era of foreign governments treating Nigeria with disdain and getting away with it is over.
“To make matters worse, Canada itself might not even remain a sovereign nation for much longer if @realDonaldTrump has his way—it could end up as America’s 51st state!
“For a country so uncertain about its own future to disrespect our senior military officers is unacceptable.
“Not only should they ‘go to hell,’ but they might as well jump in the lagoon!
“Nigeria has earned its place and MUST be treated with respect.”
