Political rivalries are not real, they’re just to entertain you – Fayemi tells Nigerians

Former Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has claimed that political rivalries among Nigerian politicians are merely staged performances meant to entertain the public.

Speaking at his 60th birthday thanksgiving service at St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Isan Ekiti on Sunday, Fayemi addressed those who were surprised to see some of his political opponents in attendance. He explained that the perceived conflicts between politicians are not genuine.

“Everything you see on social media is just for public amusement,” Fayemi said. “Some may wonder why former Governor Segun Oni is here, but I spent the whole day with him on his birthday. If Governor Ayodele Fayose were around, he would have been here as well without hesitation.”

He emphasized the importance of unity in Ekiti, regardless of political affiliations. “Our vision has always been to build a state that is not divided by political differences. While we may belong to different parties, we all share a common commitment to the progress of Ekiti, which our governor continues to uphold.”

Reflecting on his milestone birthday, Fayemi expressed gratitude, stating, “I am a product of grace, and I have countless reasons to thank God at 60.”
