Transfer: Easy decision – Rashford explains why he picked Aston Villa over others

On Sunday, Marcus Rashford finalized a loan transfer from Manchester United to Aston Villa, where he will remain until the end of the season.

The deal includes an option for Villa to make the move permanent for £40 million.

Before sealing the switch to Villa Park, the England international was linked with several top European clubs, including AC Milan, Napoli, Borussia Dortmund, and Barcelona.

Sharing his thoughts on Instagram, the 27-year-old described joining Villa as an “easy decision,” citing his admiration for Unai Emery’s team and their ambitions this season.

“I want to thank Manchester United and Aston Villa for making this loan move possible,” Rashford wrote.

“I had interest from a few clubs, but choosing Aston Villa was straightforward—I’ve really admired their style of play this season and the manager’s vision. More than anything, I just want to play football, and I’m excited to get started.

“I wish Manchester United all the best for the remainder of the season.”

Rashford will now look forward to making his Aston Villa debut in their upcoming FA Cup clash against Tottenham Hotspur next weekend.
