Residents of several communities in Maradun Local Government Area, Zamfara State, have expressed concern over the presence of notorious bandit leader Bello Turji.
Reports indicate that on the evening of January 19 and the morning of January 20, 2025, Turji’s loyalists were seen traveling on motorcycles while transporting wounded individuals. Locals observed them heading toward the Garsa/Kadanya area within the Bayanruwa hideout.
Eyewitness accounts suggest that the fleeing bandits passed through locations such as Galadi, Damaga, Rudunu, and Danbenchi, with some reportedly spotted near Rudunu, Bankamawa, and Farfaru in Faru District, as previously documented.
Intelligence further reveals that Bello Turji and some of his men are currently at the Garsa/Kadanya hideout, where they are being hosted by Jummo Smally, a former rival.
Attempts to reach the state police spokesperson for comments were unsuccessful at the time of reporting.
