The All Progressives Congress (APC) has asserted that President Bola Tinubu holds a superior political position compared to former President Olusegun Obasanjo, New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) leader Rabiu Kwankwaso, and Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP).
Bala Ibrahim, APC’s National Publicity Director, stated that none of these figures poses a political threat to Tinubu. His remarks came in response to a recent meeting between Kwankwaso, Donald Duke, and Obasanjo.
Obasanjo hosted Kwankwaso and Duke in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Saturday, where Kwankwaso described the gathering as a courtesy visit to discuss critical national issues affecting politics and governance.
However, Ibrahim dismissed the significance of the meeting, describing it as inconsequential. He emphasized that Tinubu commands greater political relevance and influence.
In a statement, Ibrahim remarked that even a combined effort by Obasanjo, Kwankwaso, and Duke would yield no substantial impact.
“When it comes to Nigerian politics, especially in contemporary times, Tinubu is leagues ahead of them. Tinubu is head and shoulders above them in modern Nigerian politics. The combination of Obasanjo, Kwankwaso, Peter Obi, and Donald Duke, who was my schoolmate, poses no threat to Tinubu.
“These are individuals who were defeated in the last election. They can hold as many marathon meetings as they want, but they won’t present any challenge to the APC-led government. Unless they are bringing angels into the equation, it makes no difference,” Ibrahim said.
