Governance should transcend political differences — Gov. Fubara

Rivers State Governor, Siminialayi Fubara, has called for governance that rises above political differences.

Speaking on Wednesday during the inauguration of the 11.8km Okehi-Umuola-Eberi Link Road, which connects Etche and Omuma local government areas, Fubara emphasized his commitment to serving all residents of Rivers State, regardless of their political affiliations.

“I am not just the governor of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP); I am the governor of Rivers State,” he stated. “My responsibility is to care for, provide for, and protect everyone in the state.”

Fubara recounted how a previous administration abandoned a road project linking Rivers State to Imo State via Etche because it led to the residence of an opposition politician.

“When we came on board, we discovered a road that stopped a few meters from an opposition politician’s house. For years, the people in the area suffered. Governance is not about being wicked or vindictive; it’s about service,” he said.

The governor reaffirmed his dedication to inclusive leadership, stressing that political differences should not hinder the development and welfare of the people.
