Primate Elijah Ayodele, head of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has issued a warning to the newly appointed Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Olufemi Oluyede, about a possible terrorist attack in five Nigerian states. Ayodele urged the Nigerian Army to exercise caution from December through February, as he believes terrorist groups are planning assaults during this period.
In a statement from his media aide, Oluwatosin Osho, Ayodele highlighted that potential targets include Abuja, Imo, Plateau, Niger, Katsina, Borno, and Benue. He stated, “From December to February, there could be an increase in casualties due to insecurity. I urge caution to protect our soldiers, who do not deserve to lose their lives.”
The prophet advised the military to take a proactive approach, saying, “The army should intensify efforts, closely monitoring these terrorists in five states, including Abuja, Niger, Plateau, Katsina, Maiduguri, Benue, and Imo, to safeguard military formations.” He further warned of an emerging terrorist group that, while small, could be eradicated if addressed promptly, adding that more severe terrorist crises could arise by 2025 if actions aren’t taken.
Ayodele also recounted previous warnings to the Nigerian Army under the former Chief of Army Staff about emerging terrorist groups. He emphasized the spiritual dimension of insecurity, suggesting it should be addressed through both physical and spiritual means.
He noted the potential for a larger coalition of terrorist groups, comprising elements from Al Qaeda, ISIS, Boko Haram, and Hezbollah, and encouraged the COAS to heed divine guidance as well as wisdom from varied sources.
