Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, has urged indigenes of Osun residing in Ondo State to cast their votes for Agboola Ajayi, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, in the upcoming November 16 gubernatorial election.
His call comes after the Osun indigenes in Ondo expressed their support for Ajayi’s candidacy. Governor Adeleke made the appeal during his visit to Ondo State on Tuesday, where he joined Ajayi’s campaign tour to several local governments.
While on the campaign trail, Adeleke was hosted by Osun indigenes in Akure, the capital of Ondo State. Addressing the crowd, the governor urged them to work toward ensuring a PDP victory in the election. He emphasized the importance of voting for the party and staying with their votes on election day.
Adeleke told the crowd, “In just two years, we’ve achieved what they couldn’t in 12 years in Osun. The election is here—go and tell them we’re backing your ‘governor’ (Ajayi). We’ve brought progress to Osun, and with God’s help, we will do the same in Ondo. Agboola Ajayi has the experience and connection with the grassroots to bring about the same positive changes here.”
He continued, “I’m happy to be here supporting my brother Agboola. Everything is working in Osun, and we want to replicate that success in Ondo. The PDP is the only progressive party. Go out, vote, and stand by your votes.”
Agboola Ajayi, the PDP candidate, expressed his deep gratitude to the people of Osun for their continued support and promised to deliver the benefits of good governance to all of Ondo’s residents if elected.
Kehinde Ayinla, Chairman of the Osun State Indigenes in Ondo, assured Ajayi of strong backing from Osun indigenes across all 18 local government areas in Ondo, citing Ajayi’s understanding of the state’s challenges as the reason for their support.
