With just 10 days left before the November 16 governorship election in Ondo State, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced that it is more prepared than ever. The commission reassured that, ahead of the election, all key stakeholders—governorship candidates, political parties, the media, observers, and security agencies—will have the opportunity to inspect sensitive materials.
INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, revealed that the sensitive materials are expected to arrive in the state on Tuesday, and he assured the public that the election will be smooth and efficient. During a visit to the commission’s council offices in Ondo State, Yakubu explained that the inspection of these materials will begin on Wednesday, with the materials being distributed to local government areas on Thursday.
“The level of preparedness is impressive. It’s rare for the commission to be this ready before an election,” Yakubu stated. “That’s why I’ve been touring the local government areas to ensure they have everything they need at this stage. The only remaining item is the sensitive materials, which will arrive on Tuesday.”
He added, “On Wednesday, all parties, candidates, observers, security agencies, media, and commission personnel will inspect the sensitive materials.”
