Arraignment of minors shameful for democracy – Shehu Sani

Former Senator Shehu Sani, who represented the Kaduna Central Senatorial District, has criticized the court proceedings involving minors arrested during the recent Endbadgovernance protests nationwide.

DAILY POST reports that these minors were taken to court on Friday, where two of them collapsed in the courtroom.

Nigerians, including various lawyers, have condemned the situation, expressing outrage at the actions of the Federal Government led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In a post on X, Senator Sani called the arraignment of minors “unfortunate” and “shameful” for the nation’s democracy.

He urged the government to drop the charges against them and send them back to their home states.

“The arraignment of these minors for protesting is extremely regrettable and a disgrace to our democracy. The FG must withdraw the charges and return them to their states,” he stated.
