The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced the restoration of bulk power supply to the Gombe-Damaturu-Maiduguri 330 kilovolt transmission line. TCN spokesperson Ndidi Mbah shared this update in a statement on Friday.
The line had been vandalized on September 22, 2024, leading to power outages in the region. TCN reported that the repairs were completed, and power supply was restored around 2:01 pm on Thursday. The full power supply was reestablished on the Gombe-Damaturu section by 7:25 pm on October 30, and for the Damaturu-Maiduguri segment on October 31.
TCN noted that the vandalized tower 372 was rebuilt, and the line was reconnected on October 23, but immediate restoration was delayed due to issues with the Ugwuaji-Apir transmission line. Overall, power supply along the Gombe-Damaturu-Maiduguri line is now fully operational. Additionally, DAILY POST reminds us that on Wednesday, TCN restored power to several other states, including Lafia and Makurdi, after more than two weeks of outages.
