Fubara Approves N30,000 Minimum Wage For LG Workers

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has sanctioned a minimum wage of N30,000 for local government employees within the state. He has instructed for the prompt disbursement of all outstanding allowances, gratuities, promotions, and accrued benefits.

This approval was granted during a meeting held at the Government House, Port Harcourt, where Governor Fubara convened with Pastor GoodLife Ben, the acting chairman of the Rivers State Local Government Service Commission (RSLGSC), as well as representatives from the Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE).

Also present at the gathering were the Heads of Local Government Administration (HLGA), Heads of Personnel Management (HPM), and Treasurers from the 23 local government areas.

Governor Fubara has directed the immediate implementation of the N35,000.00 wage increase authorized by the federal government to alleviate the impact of the fuel subsidy removal.
