The surviving siblings of the late Nabeeha Al-Kadriyah have now regained their freedom. Earlier, the sisters, along with their father, were kidnapped in the Zuma 1 area of Bwari Area Council on January 2nd. Although their father was released to gather ransom, the family failed to meet the kidnappers’ demands within the specified deadline, resulting in the tragic death of Nabeeha.
Following the young girl’s murder, the kidnappers increased the ransom from N60 million to N100 million, threatening to kill all the remaining sisters. Concerned Nigerians extended support to prevent further harm to the siblings. The Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, confirmed the sisters’ release on Sunday morning. While there are indications that the N100 million ransom was paid before their release, the PPRO stated that the FCT Anti-Kidnapping squad, in collaboration with the Nigerian Army, successfully rescued the victims around Kajuru forest in Kaduna State on Saturday night at approximately 11:30 pm.
