The Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Chief Edward David Onoja, has experienced defeat in his home local government, Olamaboro, as the opposition Social Democratic Party (SDP) emerged victorious.
According to information gathered by DAILY POST, the All Progressives Congress (APC), to which Onoja belongs, secured 5,572 votes in Olamaboro, while the SDP garnered 22,173 votes. The collation officer for the Local Government, Ogbufa Chukwudi, officially signed the results.
This development follows an earlier report that Onoja lost his personal polling unit to the SDP, where Senator Dino Melaye of the Peoples Democratic Party obtained 1,376 votes.
Further details revealed that the total votes cast in Olamaboro Local Government were 30,226, with 29,731 votes rejected and 495 deemed invalid.
