APC kicks over alleged planned UK protest against Tinubu

The leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) UK Chapter has strongly opposed the planned protest against President Bola Tinubu in London, deeming it an ill-advised undertaking. Mr. Tunde Doherty, Chairman of the UK chapter of the ruling party and also the Chairman of the APC Committee of Diaspora Chairmen, made this stance clear in a statement issued in Lagos on Friday.

Doherty revealed that a group led by Aisha Yesufu, an activist and a supporter of the Labour Party, had announced their intentions to stage a protest in London to promote allegations regarding the educational qualifications of President Bola Tinubu. In response, Doherty emphasized the responsibility of addressing this matter and stressed the importance of relying on verified facts rather than premature and unsubstantiated claims.

He highlighted the extensive and distinguished career of President Bola Tinubu, describing him as a seasoned statesman with a longstanding commitment to serving Nigeria and its citizens. Doherty also pointed out that the allegations of forged certificates lacked concrete evidence and had the potential to undermine the principles of democracy and fair political discourse that are held in high regard.
