Ohinoyi of Ebira land, Ado Ibrahim dies at 95

The Ohinoyi of Ebira land, Ado Ibrahim, a prominent ruler in Kogi State, has passed away. He died in the early hours of Sunday after a brief illness. The late monarch, who reached the age of 95, will be laid to rest in accordance with Islamic customs.

It’s worth noting that Ado Ibrahim assumed the position of the Ohinoyi of Ebira land in 1997, following his coronation by the then-Governor of Kogi State, the late Prince Abubakar Audu. He succeeded his predecessor, Alhaji Sanni Omolorim, who had reigned from 1957 to 1997.

Born on February 7, 1929, Ado Ibrahim received education from both western nursery and Quranic schools. He completed his primary education in 1940 at the Native Authority (NA) primary school in Okene, in what was then the Northern Region and is now part of Kogi State.

He continued his education at Ondo Boys High School for his secondary education and later transferred to Oduduwa College, where he graduated in 1949. In 1954, he earned a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the London School of Economics, and in 1959, he obtained a master’s degree from Harvard Business School.
