NAF airstrikes eliminate terrorists, destroy gun trucks in Borno, Zamfara

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has announced that the Air Components of Operations Hadin Kai and Hadarin Daji have carried out a series of air strikes to eliminate a significant number of terrorists in their hideouts across various theaters. This information was provided in a statement released by Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, the Director of Public Relations and Information for NAF, on Sunday in Abuja.

Gabkwet explained that the Air Component conducted air interdiction missions in the early hours of Saturday at a newly identified terrorist hideout near Lake Chad, in the Bukar Meram area of Borno. The decision for these strikes was made upon discovering that terrorists had recently relocated from Suwa to the Bukar Meram vicinity, with the potential of launching attacks on ground troops and innocent civilians.

As a result of these air strikes at Bukar Meram, a significant number of terrorists were neutralized, and more than 40 motorcycles and six gun trucks were destroyed, achieving the desired outcome.

Additionally, similar air strikes were carried out on October 11 by the Air Component of Operation Hadarin Daji in the Sangeko area of Maru Local Government Area in Zamfara. A convoy of terrorists consisting of around 70 motorcycles on the road from Kabaro to Sangeko was engaged, resulting in numerous neutralized terrorists, destroyed motorcycles, and injured individuals.

Air Marshal Hasan Abubakar, the Chief of the Air Staff, commended the professionalism and dedication of the Air Components, emphasizing the importance of their support to ground troops and the confidence they instill in the citizens. He encouraged them to stay focused and remain diligent in their efforts.
