Paul Merson, an Arsenal legend, criticized three Manchester United players for their poor performance against Crystal Palace on Saturday. Merson expressed his dissatisfaction with the midfield performance of Bruno Fernandes, Casemiro, and Mason Mount.
Merson pointed out that the trio of Fernandes, Casemiro, and Mount appeared disoriented in the middle of the pitch during the match against Crystal Palace. Joachim Andersen’s goal secured a victory for Palace over Erik ten Hag’s team at Old Trafford.
“It is tough for Hojlund. He doesn’t receive much support. You have players like Mount, Casemiro, and Fernandes. Yet, they seem uncertain about their roles. They appear lost and unsure of where they should position themselves,” Merson commented on Sky Sports.
He further added, “I’ve noticed that Mount and Fernandes seem bewildered. They seem uncertain about their positioning. They are struggling to assert themselves and are getting outplayed.”
