Mohbad’s mother, Mrs Aloba, has revealed that her son was afraid she would be kidnapped. She says this is why she refused to live in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State, where Mohbad had rented an apartment and wanted to set up a business for her.
Mrs Aloba also disclosed that Mohbad and his wife deceived her to stay with them due to the trauma he was going through. She says she spent 10 days at his house without knowing he would die. He was begging her not to leave, but she left when she told him she needed to go to church.
Mrs Aloba says that Mohbad was never able to truly enjoy himself because he was always afraid. She says he and his wife would often go to the police station to report threats.
Mrs Aloba’s comments come amid controversy surrounding Mohbad’s death. The relevant authorities have exhumed his body for further investigation.
