The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) has appointed Brazilian Baltemar Brito as the new head coach of the national team. Brito will be assisted by Bongani Mafu and Genesis Mangombe.
The 71-year-old’s first assignment will be a friendly match against Botswana on September 30. Brito will combine the national team job with his current role as head coach of Zimbabwe Premier League club Highlanders.
Zimbabwe will face Nigeria in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier on November 17 in Harare.
