Champions League: Tuchel banned for Bayern Munich vs Man Utd clash

Bayern Munich manager Thomas Tuchel will miss their Champions League opener against Manchester United on Wednesday due to a one-match touchline ban.

Tuchel was sent off during Bayern’s quarter-final second leg defeat to Manchester City in April, and will now have to serve his suspension in the first game of this season’s group stage. This will be the first time Bayern and United have met in the Champions League since 2014, when the German giants won 4-2 on aggregate in the quarter-finals.Tuchel’s assistant coaches, Anthony Barry and Zsolt Low, are expected to take charge of the team in his absence.
