Wike successful unlike Ojudu who deceived Obasanjo – Lere Olayinka

Lere Olayinka, Senior Special Adviser on Public Communications and Social Media to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has strongly criticized former presidential aide Babafemi Ojudu for his recent remarks about the minister.

In response to Ojudu’s comment accusing Wike of behaving as though power lasts forever, Olayinka described Wike as a more accomplished and influential political figure than Ojudu. He accused Ojudu of misleading former President Olusegun Obasanjo into orchestrating the unlawful removal of a democratically elected governor in Ekiti State.

Olayinka’s remarks came after Ojudu, a former Special Adviser on Political Matters to ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, revealed he played a role in the impeachment of former Ekiti governor Ayodele Fayose, allegedly with Obasanjo’s backing.

According to Olayinka, Ojudu’s political influence diminished following the defeat of his preferred presidential candidate at the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries in 2022.

In a statement, Olayinka said: “Egbon Femi Ojudu is clearly bitter, but he should focus his frustration on the flawed political calculations that led him to back the wrong candidate in the 2023 elections.

“Is he now farming cocoyam and ewedu as he once promised back in 2022?

“It’s ironic that someone like Ojudu, who led a political coup in Ekiti, is now lecturing others about the fleeting nature of power. Did he not consider that when he was actively dismantling democracy in his own state?

“When did he become a champion of fairness in politics—only after his grip on power slipped following the APC primary loss?

“Unlike Ojudu, Wike has demonstrated real political skill and success. Wike isn’t like Ojudu, whose most notable political move was convincing Obasanjo to unconstitutionally remove a duly elected governor in Ekiti State.”
