‘Foreign Forces Want To Plunge Nigeria Into Civil War’, Fani-Kayode Raises Alarm Over Plateau Killings

Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode, has condemned the recent surge in violence across Plateau State and other parts of Northern Nigeria, attributing the unrest to “foreign elements” allegedly working to destabilize the country. In a video shared on social media, he claimed that the attacks are being orchestrated by individuals entering Nigeria through unsecured borders, aiming to divide the nation along religious and ethnic lines.

“These attackers are killing both Christians and Muslims, northerners and southerners alike,” he said. “Their goal is to destabilize the country and undermine the government. This is a planned and ongoing assault.”

Fani-Kayode likened the current situation to the period leading up to the 2015 elections, which he said was marked by similar insurgent activities that ultimately contributed to the defeat of former President Goodluck Jonathan.

“This same pattern emerged in 2014, and now it’s happening again as part of a strategy ahead of 2027,” he alleged. “We know who is behind this — foreign actors from the West, Israel, and others who don’t want Nigeria to remain stable.”

He also denounced retaliatory violence targeting innocent people based on ethnic identity, urging Nigerians to avoid mob justice and senseless killings.

Furthermore, Fani-Kayode urged the federal and Plateau State governments to take stronger, more immediate action, particularly by enhancing border security. “I call on the federal government to shut our borders to prevent further infiltration. Let us act decisively, like Trump did in America. We must remove every one of these threats.”

While his comments were laced with strong rhetoric, he expressed sympathy for the victims of the ongoing violence, offering prayers and support to grieving families.

He ended with a message of hope and unity: “Nigeria will endure. We will not fall. Our democracy will survive and thrive. God’s will shall prevail, and we will stand united. Long live Great Nigeria.”
