A female driver sustained multiple injuries on Monday morning after her Toyota saloon car plunged off the Otedola Bridge, heading outbound on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Lagos State.
Reports indicate that the vehicle, bearing registration number IKJ 126 BH, lost control, collided with another car, and subsequently veered off the bridge, landing near a ditch below.
Videos circulating on social media showed emergency responders and security officials at the scene by 9:02 a.m., working to identify the driver and investigate the cause of the accident.
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) confirmed the incident in a statement via its official X (formerly Twitter) handle, assuring the public that emergency services were actively managing the situation and working to ease traffic congestion in the area.
According to LASTMA, the injured driver was successfully rescued and taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
