Natasha homecoming: Police calls for cancellation of Okene rally

Kogi Police Command Urges Cancellation of Rally for Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan

Ahead of the homecoming of embattled Kogi Central lawmaker, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, the Kogi State Police Command has called for the cancellation of a planned rally in her honor, scheduled for Tuesday in Okene.

In a statement released by the Kogi State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP William Ovye Aya, the command cited intelligence reports indicating that the event poses a security threat to the state.

Aya explained that the decision was necessary due to credible intelligence suggesting that hoodlums might hijack the rally and disrupt public peace.

“The Command cannot afford to compromise the existing peace in the state.

“In light of the security concerns surrounding the planned event, the Kogi State Police Command advises the organizers to cancel the rally to prevent any breakdown of law and order. Anyone who attempts to disrupt the peace will face the full force of the law,” the statement warned.
