Seven newly promoted Assistant Commissioners of Police in the Zone Six Police Command, Calabar, have been urged to be just in their dealings with members of the public as well as their subordinates.
The Assistant Inspector General of Police in the Zone, AIG Mustapha Mohammed Bala, gave the charge while decorating them in his office today, Tuesday, 11 March 2025.
In a statement signed by the Acting Zonal Police PRO, ASP Edim Obazi Eyam, the Zone 6 AIG said the seven officers were deserving of the promotion, which is a mandate of the Inspector-General of Police aimed at boosting the morale of police personnel for effective service delivery.
“Promotion is a privilege, and I believe that you are deserving of it, as per the judgement of the Inspector-General of Police.
“I urge you to redouble your efforts, as society, which is our mirror, is watching.
“You must be just in the course of your duties. Injustice can never be just, irrespective of the span of time. You should therefore be justice-oriented in your service delivery,” he said.
The Commissioner of Police in Cross River State, Grimah Gyogon, who spoke on behalf of the Akwa Ibom and Cross River state commands, congratulated them.
The newly decorated Assistant Commissioners of Police include Juliet Egbukunye, Nwakalor Ejike, Mohammed Danazumi, Orole Vincent, Muktar Ibrahim, Elisha Atikinkpan, and Hope Tamunumiebaka.
They expressed their appreciation for the promotion, pledging to redouble their efforts in the performance of their duties to justify the confidence reposed in them.
