Yobe govt signs ₦22.3bn contract for flyover, underpass in Damaturu

The Yobe State Government has signed a contract worth ₦22.3 billion for the construction of a flyover and an underpass in the state capital, Damaturu.

This development is part of the government’s efforts to enhance infrastructure for residents.
The state Commissioner for Works, Engineer Umar Duddaye, signed the contract on behalf of the government, while Engineer Habib Geojea represented the executing firm, Messrs Triacta Nigeria Limited.

The commissioner stated that Governor Mai Mala Buni’s administration prioritizes major infrastructural projects, including roads, bridges, and drainage systems.

He added that the Damaturu flyover project is expected to be completed within 12 months.

Additionally, the government signed a contract with Messrs Elegance Construction Nigeria Limited for the construction of the Damaturu-Gambir road, which is scheduled for completion in nine months.

The commissioner further disclosed plans to construct 23.5 kilometers of new roads and 27 kilometers of drainage systems in Damaturu, along with the rehabilitation of existing roads where necessary.

The regional manager of Triacta Nigeria Limited assured that the company would deliver the project within the agreed timeframe and with high quality.
