After prolonged deliberations, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) officially confirmed Udeh Okoye as the party’s substantive National Secretary on Wednesday.
According to a statement issued by PDP National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, the decision was based on a detailed review of a memo submitted by the Acting National Chairman, which referenced court rulings affirming Okoye’s position.
During its meeting, the NWC examined several key legal documents, including a declaratory judgment from the High Court of Enugu and a ruling from the Court of Appeal, Enugu Division—both of which confirmed Udeh Okoye as the PDP’s rightful National Secretary.
Additionally, legal opinions from Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Dr. Kabiru T. Turaki and the PDP’s National Legal Adviser were also reviewed.
“After thorough consideration of the memo and its supporting documents, the NWC unanimously recognizes and confirms Rt. Hon. S.K.E Udeh Okoye as the substantive National Secretary of the PDP, in full compliance with the Court of Appeal’s judgment. There is no existing or overriding court order contradicting this ruling,” the statement concluded.
