The fourth-generation Apple iPhone SE is slated to hit the market much sooner than previously anticipated. According to a new leak, the phone will be officially unveiled in just a few days time. The iPhone SE 4 is rumored to be priced around $500, but is still said to offer many features and just a few omissions compared to the iPhone 16.
Earlier rumors suggested that the fourth-generation iPhone SE wouldn’t launch until late March. However, Bloomberg now claims that the phone’s launch is set for next week, possibly around February 11th, with shipping starting later this month. The iPhone SE 4 is expected to be priced at around $500 in the US. Based on Apple’s usual conversion rates, the budget-focused iOS smartphone could cost about €599 including VAT in Europe.
This would make the new base model $300 or roughly 38% cheaper than the iPhone 16. Despite similar technical specifications, there will be some compromises as the iPhone SE 4 will probably lack the dedicated camera button and have a notch instead of the Dynamic Island, while also missing out on the ultra-wide camera. The 6.1-inch OLED display might also be less bright than on the iPhone 16. Nevertheless, the iPhone SE 4 could offer a quote compelling bang for the buck.
The main reason for that is the powerful Apple A18 chipset, which is compatible with Apple Intelligence. The smartphone is also expected to feature Face ID, a 12MP selfie camera, a decent 48MP main camera as well as wireless charging via MagSafe. The iPhone SE 4 might also debut with a brand-new 5G modem, which was not designed by Qualcomm but Apple. In addition to the new iPhone SE, Apple will probably launch the Beats Powerbeats Pro 2 headphones with a new design and heart rate sensor.
