The Commandant of the Zamfara State Road Traffic Agency (ZAROTA), MB Musa, has called on road users to adopt safer practices to prevent hazards and maintain safety on Zamfara roads.
Through a statement issued by ZAROTA’s Public Relations Officer, Saleh Kwaren Shinkafi, Musa appealed to the public to refrain from dumping sand, soil, concrete, or waste materials on roads. He explained that this measure is aimed at reducing accidents and ensuring cleanliness across the state’s roadways.
The announcement also urged individuals who wash motorcycles, tricycles, or cars on public roads to desist from these activities, as they contravene traffic regulations. Additionally, street vendors and traders were advised to remove goods from roads and pedestrian walkways, which are reserved exclusively for public movement and vehicular traffic.
Musa emphasized the importance of compliance with traffic laws and called for the cooperation of motorists and residents to support ZAROTA’s initiatives. He reiterated the agency’s dedication to maintaining road safety and integrity, while also urging all vehicle owners, both private and commercial, to register their vehicles to avoid penalties.
The Commandant thanked the State Governor, Dauda Lawal, for his support in helping ZAROTA achieve its objectives and expressed gratitude to residents for their cooperation. He warned that violators of ZAROTA’s regulations would face disciplinary measures in accordance with the law, reinforcing the agency’s commitment to upholding road safety standards.
