Kidnappers persist afetr Soludo’s threats, abduct one in Anambra community

Despite threats from Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, kidnappers continue their operations in the state.

In a recent incident, an unidentified man was abducted on Sunday night in Aku village, Ezinifitte community, Aguata Local Government Area.

A relative of the victim, who chose to remain anonymous, disclosed that the abduction occurred around 11 p.m. The kidnappers reportedly drove the victim around in his own car while negotiating a ransom.

By Monday morning at 7 a.m., the relative confirmed the victim’s release, though at a significant financial loss.

“The kidnapped victim has thankfully been released this morning, but not without a heavy cost—his entire bank account was drained via a POS transaction connected to a MoniePoint account,” he shared.

Expressing gratitude, he added, “I deeply appreciate all your prayers, messages, and offers of help during this difficult time. Your support means so much.”

While the exact amount taken from the victim was not disclosed, the relative called for assistance in recovering the stolen funds.

Attempts to verify the incident with the state police command’s spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, were unsuccessful.
