Moses Jituboh, a former Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has passed away. He died on Friday at the age of 54 following a brief illness.
According to sources, plans are in place to conduct an autopsy to determine the precise cause of his death.
Jituboh served as Jonathan’s ADC during his time as Governor of Bayelsa State, continuing the role when Jonathan became Vice President and later President of Nigeria.
After Jonathan’s defeat in the 2015 presidential election, Jituboh resumed his regular duties in the Nigeria Police Force, steadily rising through the ranks. At one point, he was considered for the position of Inspector General of Police. He retired in 2023 as a Deputy Inspector General (DIG), overseeing the Department of Research and Planning and later the Department of Information and Communications Technology (ICT) at Force Headquarters.
The Zone 16 Police Command, based in Bayelsa State, extended its condolences to the Jituboh family and the people of Bayelsa.
In a statement issued by the Zonal Public Relations Officer, Emonena Gunn, AIG Adebola Hamzat described Jituboh’s passing as a significant loss.
“Enlisted into the Police Force on June 10, 1994, as a cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police, he exemplified dedication, integrity, and professionalism throughout his career,” the statement read.
The police emphasized Jituboh’s lasting legacy, noting that his death is a profound loss not only to his family but also to Bayelsa State, the Nigeria Police Force, and the nation at large.
