Ondo Guber: EFCC storms Akure to prevent vote buying

Officials from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) are currently deployed in parts of Akure, the capital of Ondo State, to curb vote-buying during the ongoing governorship election.

Some EFCC operatives were seen at Sacred Heart Primary School, Cathedral, Akure.

According to DAILY POST, the election is being conducted across 3,933 polling units in the state’s 18 local government areas.

Reports prior to the election suggested that certain political parties were planning to sway voters with cash incentives. Voting began around 8:30 a.m. in many locations, though some areas experienced delays due to the late arrival of election materials.
