Nigeria’s Super Eagles confirmed their ticket at the 2025 Africa Cup Nations, AFCON, after Rwanda’s 1-0 loss to Libya on Thursday.
Libya defeated Rwanda at the Amahoro Stadium in Kigali on Thursday evening.
Fahd Saad Mohamed scored the goal in the 84th minute to silence the entire Rwandan fans in their stadium.
This comes ahead of Nigeria’s AFCON qualifier with Benin Republic at the Stade de Houphouet Boigny in Abidjan.
Nigeria head into the game against Gernot Rohr’s side with 10 points from four games, while Benin has 6 points from the same number of games in Group D.
Rwanda are on 5 points from five matches, while Libya are now on 4 points with five matches, with both teams having one match left in the qualifying series.
Nigeria were among four sides to qualify for the 2025 AFCON in Morocco without kicking a ball on Thursday.
Gabon, South Africa and Uganda are also assured of their places after results in their respective groups went their way.
