The governing board of The Delborough Lagos has credited the hotel’s impressive success to its distinguished board members. During their second board meeting in Lagos, members highlighted that the quality and expertise of the board have been pivotal to maintaining the brand’s high standards and vision of “Ultimate Sophistication.” They emphasized that The Delborough Lagos, inaugurated on December 2, 2023, is more than a one-man enterprise; it represents a collective commitment to excellence in African hospitality.
Led by His Royal Majesty, the Obi of Onitsha, Nnaemeka Alfred Uzochukwu Achebe, the board includes respected figures such as Oba Abdulwasiu Omogbolahan Lawal, Prof. Mike A.A. Ozekhome, and others. Chairman Achebe shared that within its first year, The Delborough had hosted 16 African leaders, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and other international dignitaries.
Chairman Achebe expressed that the board’s goal is to make The Delborough Lagos a top hospitality destination, not only in Nigeria but globally. He noted that the brand’s state-of-the-art security, attention to detail, and sophisticated facilities set it apart.
Managing Director Dr. Stanley Uzochukwu revealed that African leaders are requesting The Delborough’s expansion into their countries, a prospect the board is considering as they work to take African hospitality global.
Prof. Mike Ozekhome praised The Delborough for redefining hospitality and making Nigeria a sought-after destination, describing it as a “therapeutic center.” Dr. Linus Idahosa also highlighted the board’s exceptional dedication to excellence, noting that in just one year, the hotel has attracted presidents, world leaders, and global icons, setting a new standard in hospitality.
