Protests: Northern Senators applaud Tinubu’s leadership in ordering release of minors

The Northern Senators’ Forum has praised President Bola Tinubu for his leadership in ordering the release of minors who were arrested and detained during the #EndBadGovernance protests.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Tuesday, the forum’s Chairman, Sen. Abdulaziz Yar’adua, described the President’s decision as a clear reflection of his commitment to safeguarding the rights and welfare of Nigeria’s youth.

Yar’adua welcomed the President’s directive to Attorney-General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi, to fast-track the release process. He emphasized that this was a positive and much-needed move.

The forum also expressed its appreciation for the President’s leadership in addressing this important issue. It further acknowledged the efforts of Northern leaders who had worked tirelessly to ensure the minors’ release.

“We are grateful for their relentless advocacy, which has brought this issue to the forefront,” Yar’adua said. “Moving forward, it is crucial that leaders in the North continue to focus on the safety and education of our children, creating an environment where they can grow, learn, and thrive, free from harm.”

Yar’adua concluded by urging leaders to collaborate in providing the necessary resources for youth to contribute to the nation’s progress.
