The Jigawa State Ministry of Education has issued a warning to private schools running junior and senior secondary sections without proper accreditation from the ministry, stating that these schools may be closed down. This announcement was made in a statement from Malam Musa A. Ya’u, the Director of Private Schools.
He noted that the Jigawa State Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology has formed a committee tasked with collecting annual registration fees from private schools throughout the state. The ministry emphasized that school owners must settle any outstanding fees, as the team will be inspecting all private schools to ensure compliance.
Malam Musa A. Ya’u urged private schools operating without official approval to secure it before the team’s visit and cautioned that any institution that starts junior or senior sections without the required upgrading process will face closure.
