The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has rescheduled its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting from October 24 to November 28. This announcement was made by Bala Mohammed, Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, during a communique he read after an expanded meeting on Tuesday in Abuja.
Mohammed stated that, following consultations among various party organs, it was decided to move the NEC meeting to ensure the PDP enters the upcoming Ondo gubernatorial elections on November 16 united and strong enough to challenge the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the state.
He stressed the importance of unity amidst attempts by detractors to create divisions within the party, urging all members to avoid comments that could weaken efforts to reinforce the PDP’s position as the main opposition party in preparation for the 2027 elections.
Attendees of the meeting included members from the PDP Governors’ Forum, the Board of Trustees, the National Working Committee (NWC), the National Assembly leadership of the PDP Caucus, and the Forum of Former Governors.
