United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc has confirmed its sponsorship for this year’s Lagos International Trade Fair (LITF), marking the sixth consecutive year it will serve as the event’s official financial partner. The 38th edition of the fair, organized by the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), is set to take place at Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos, in November.
During a press conference at the Commerce House in Lagos on Wednesday, LCCI Vice President Akinbo Akin Olugbade praised UBA for its ongoing support of the trade fair and its dedication to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Africa. He expressed gratitude to UBA, stating, “We appreciate your invaluable contributions and commitment to the success of this event.”

Babatunde Ajayi, UBA’s Head of SME Banking, reiterated the bank’s strong commitment to fostering African businesses, announcing a significant $6 billion loan facility aimed at SME development. He remarked, “Our six-year partnership with LCCI has been remarkably successful, aligning our missions perfectly.” Ajayi also mentioned that UBA will facilitate extensive market access and seamless transactions through its broad retail network and digital platforms during the fair.
Additionally, he noted that UBA’s support will go beyond traditional banking, offering direct engagement opportunities, payment collection, repatriation services for African exhibitors, and advanced digital banking solutions for efficient transactions.
