The Rivers State Police Command issued a stern warning to parties embroiled in the political turmoil within the state, cautioning them against actions that could lead to a breakdown of law and order.
Grace Iringe-Koko, the Police Public Relations Officer, conveyed in a statement on Sunday, emphasized that the Command would not tolerate any individual or faction jeopardizing the prevailing peace in the state.
Iringe-Koko reiterated the Command’s steadfast dedication to maintaining law and order and urged the public to prioritize peace and adherence to the law.
Furthermore, the Command encouraged people to seek peaceful and lawful channels to address their grievances.
The statement emphasized, “The Rivers State Police Command is fully cognizant of the numerous political pronouncements and sentiments circulating within the state.”
“In light of these developments, we wish to inform the general public and the esteemed people of Rivers State of the following.”
“The Nigeria Police Force, as the statutory and constitutional authority entrusted with the responsibilities of enforcing laws and orders, as well as protecting lives and properties, among others, is firmly committed to upholding and enforcing all laws and orders within the state.”
The Command affirmed its neutrality and apolitical stance regarding the current political climate, assuring the public of its impartiality in all related matters.
