The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has retrieved N7.8 million, part of the embezzled funds from the Benue Investment and Property Company Limited (BIPC). Dr. Raymond Asemakaha Jr., the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of BIPC, announced this development on Tuesday at his office in Makurdi.
Asemakaha mentioned that the draft cheque for the recovered amount has been delivered to BIPC, with ongoing efforts to reclaim more funds. He praised the EFCC’s proactive measures, viewing it as a testament to their effectiveness in tackling corruption.
The MD commended the anti-corruption agency for their professionalism and dedication to ensuring justice and combating financial crimes. He emphasized that this successful recovery highlights the significance of thorough investigative processes and a commitment to maintaining integrity in financial dealings.
