Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has sanctioned the appointment of John Paul Akinduro as the spokesperson for the Deputy Governor of the state, Olayide Adelami.
Before assuming this role, Akinduro served as the Special Assistant on Media and Digital Communications to the former governor of Ondo State, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko. He held this position from 2017, following his tenure as the Special Assistant on Digital Media to the Governor.
Akinduro brings over a decade of experience in political communication, journalism, development communication, creative writing, and digital storytelling to his new role. As a seasoned media entrepreneur, communications specialist, and tech evangelist, he is expected to leverage his expertise effectively.
He was part of the pioneering team at NN24, Africa’s inaugural 24-hour TV news channel and CNN affiliate. Additionally, as the Creative Officer-in-Chief of Media Friends, he has successfully executed various media and tech-related projects for numerous local and international organizations.
In 2015, Akinduro led digital media engagement for the southwest campaign of President Goodluck Jonathan’s re-election and subsequently served as head of media and digital communications for several gubernatorial elections in Ondo State and other states across Nigeria.
Akinduro received his education from esteemed institutions such as Pan African University (formerly Pan Atlantic University) in Lagos, Nigeria, Babcock University in Ogun State, and professional training from the London College of Communication at the University of the Arts, London, United Kingdom, and Harvard University in Cambridge MA, USA.
