FCT: Abuja only rely on taxes – Wike reminds companies

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has urged developers in the nation’s capital to consistently collaborate with the FCT Administration regarding tax obligations. Wike made this statement during a courtesy visit by a delegation from the Nadeem Group, led by Mr. George Tolofari, Special Adviser to the Chief Executive Officer, to the FCT Administration on Wednesday.

Wike emphasized the importance of companies in the FCT ensuring timely tax payments, asserting that without tax revenues, the government would be unable to undertake essential projects such as road construction and public infrastructure.

“I also encourage you to ensure prompt tax payment because that is essential for government operations,” Wike stated. “Unlike other states that receive funds from the Federation Account, Abuja relies solely on taxes.”

Furthermore, he reassured investors that the FCT provided a safe environment for investment, emphasizing that security and job creation were primary concerns of the FCT Administration, aligning with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
