Hugo Broos, the coach of South Africa, has commended Ademola Lookman, the Super Eagles star, in anticipation of the Bafana Bafana’s upcoming semifinal match against Nigeria in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) held in Ivory Coast. Nigeria secured a 1-0 victory over Angola, while South Africa advanced with a 2-1 win on penalties against Cape Verde on Saturday night, setting the stage for their clash on Wednesday at the Stade de la Paix, Bouaké.

Broos acknowledged Nigeria’s steady improvement since their 1-1 draw with Equatorial Guinea in the initial group game. He specifically pointed out Victor Osimhen and Ademola Lookman as standout players in the Nigerian team who could make a significant impact.

Addressing reporters after the triumph over Cape Verde, Broos stated, “Nigeria is a team that has been getting better and better with every game. When I watched them play, it’s evident they are a very strong team with an impressive striker. There are also a few exceptional players like Lookman, who scored the goal – a very skilled player. We now need to analyze a bit more because we didn’t do that at the time.”
