Nigeria currently holds the fourth position in terms of tickets purchased by participating countries for the upcoming 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, as disclosed by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) on its official X account.
The message from CAF states, “Ticket sales for Nigeria are among the top five on the continent.”
As per CAF’s information, Nigeria has acquired a total of 12,544 tickets. The leading position is held by the host country, Cote d’Ivoire, with 32,307 tickets sold. Following closely are Nigeria’s Group A opponents, Guinea-Bissau, with 28,614 tickets, and Equatorial Guinea with 16,237 tickets. Defending champions Senegal occupy the fifth position with 10,959 tickets purchased.
The 2023 AFCON finals are scheduled to take place from January 13 to February 11, 2024. In the opening fixture, the Super Eagles will encounter Equatorial Guinea at the Alssanne Quattara Stadium, Ebimpe, Abidjan, on Sunday, January 14.
