Federal Workers Forum (FWF) expresses dismay as they claim that the Federal Government has reneged on the promised N35,000 wage award meant to alleviate the economic impact of fuel subsidy removal.
According to FWF’s National Coordinator, Comrade Andrew Emelieze, workers feel betrayed as the government fulfilled only one month of the initially pledged six months, exacerbating the challenges faced since the subsidy removal. Emelieze emphasizes the disparity between stagnant minimum wages at N30,000 and the skyrocketing costs of living, citing instances where salaries are delayed, some workers blocked from payment, and promotion arrears unpaid.
