Google to start deleting inactive Gmail accounts Dec 1

The well-known search engine Google has announced its intention to permanently remove inactive Gmail accounts starting from December 1. According to a blog post by Google, an account is considered inactive if the user has not engaged in any activity or logged in for a period of two years.

The statement from Google reads, “Google products retain the right to erase your data if your account remains inactive for a 2-year duration. Consequently, December 1, 2023, marks the earliest date for the deletion of a Google Account.”

It’s important to note that this policy specifically pertains to personal accounts. The criteria for activity, as outlined by the tech giant, include actions such as signing in, utilizing Google Drive, reading or sending emails, watching YouTube videos, downloading apps, and engaging in activities like searching and sharing photos.
