Zimbabwean midfielder Marshall Munetsi is uncertain to participate in the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Nigeria. Munetsi sustained a broken nose during a recent match between his Ligue 1 club, Stade Reims, and Lorient. This injury prevented the 27-year-old from playing in the match against Nantes last weekend, even with the use of a protective mask.
The former Orlando Pirates player faces the possibility of also missing Reims’ Ligue 1 fixture against Paris Saint-Germain on Saturday. Whether he will be given clearance to join the Zimbabwean team for the World Cup qualifiers remains uncertain.
In the current season, Munetsi has scored two goals in 10 league appearances for Reims.
