According to the Defence Headquarters (DHQ), Nigerian Army forces have eliminated 113 terrorists, apprehended 300 suspects, and successfully rescued 91 kidnap victims in a one-week period. Major General Edward Buba, the Director of Defence Media Operations, made these announcements during a press briefing. Additionally, the troops arrested 25 individuals suspected of involvement in oil theft, dismantled 49 illegal refining sites, and confiscated stolen products valued at N571 million.
The security forces also recovered 129 assorted weapons and 717 different types of ammunition. The DHQ reiterated its strong commitment to applying military pressure to combat groups that threaten peace and security within the country.
Buba emphasized the ongoing defeat of these groups and their infrastructure through coordinated air and ground operations. He also mentioned the anticipation of new platforms to enhance their capabilities further. The DHQ spokesperson provided a detailed breakdown of the items recovered during this period, which includes various firearms, ammunition, explosives, and other materials.
